Areas of expertise: General & Commercial Management, Consumer, Retail, Media, Digital and Technology
The world has fundamentally changed in recent years, requiring a totally different skill set from people, traditional organisations and disruptive scale-ups. Thanks to my expertise in the overlapping fields of commerce, marketing strategy and technology, I am able to help candidates and clients develop these skill sets.
Following a degree in Business Economics and an advisory and management career in marketing (Ipsos, VODW Marketing and Bertelsmann), I spent a number of years working as an entrepreneur before joining YESS in 2003. At YESS, the focus is on the personal development and growth of people. This is what continues to inspire me.
I am committed to people and what motivates them. Continued professional growth and innovation and the ability to realise change quickly and effectively are the key to success in an ever-changing market.
Areas of expertise: Commercial & Supply Chain Management, Not For Profit, B2B and Industrial
Thanks to my international background, I feel comfortable operating in a global setting. Following my studies in France, I joined a French bank where I received additional commercial training and held various commercial positions.
During my subsequent time in M&A at a British multinational in the European food sector, I learned how important the ‘human factor’ is with an organisation. This is how I eventually turned to executive search. For the past decade, I have also been active as a (career) coach.
Paying attention is an essential quality in building the lasting relationships we strive for, both in executive search and in career guidance. Being able to listen, asking the right questions and giving honest feedback. This is the best way to make and maintain a lasting connection.
Areas of expertise: Financial, Tax, Treasury and Risk Management
After obtaining a degree in Law, I joined ING as a trainee, before working as a legal and tax advisor for MeesPierson Intertrust. I then went on to work in recruitment and executive search, specialising in finance, risk, compliance, tax, treasury and financial services, for firms including Michael Page and Robert Walters, gaining 15 years of experience.
Working in executive search instantly became my passion. I enjoy working with professionals in the above mentioned fields, particularly because I know all the developments in the market, allowing me to advise clients and candidates and really add value.
YESS consists of a group of ambitious professionals with true understanding of the business, a result-driven and client-focused approach and a fully cooperative mindset. That is why I am proud to work for YESS.
Areas of expertise: Financial & Human Resource Management, Corporate Strategy and Corporate Finance & Investments
I am inspired by fully understanding what motivates our clients. Conversations with candidates about their career, life and ambitions also give me great energy. It is my goal to find the best match between the ambitions of clients and candidates.
I also advise our clients on the optimal team composition and offer support in assessing current management and other strategic HR issues. My background in strategy consulting at Monitor Company (now Deloitte) and in Structured Finance at ING Bank provides a solid foundation for this.
The range of my responsibilities enables me to remain finely attuned to developments in our field and continuously inspires and motivates me in heading up the office together with Edith Koetsier.
Corporate Finance & Investments, Corporate Strategy and Financial Management
Before joining YESS, I worked as a lawyer at De Advocaten van Van Riet. Here, I practiced Insolvency and Corporate Law. After 3,5 years I decided it was time for a new challenge: a function in which my interests, ambitions and competences would come to better use. Eventually, I found this challenge at YESS.
At YESS, I started as an Executive Search Associate. In this position, I teamed up with several Consultants from YESS on varied assignments, always with a focus on Finance and Strategy. Currently, I am active as a Consultant. In this role, everything comes together and my competences come to full advantage. I strive for the optimal match for both the client as well as the candidate.
My greatest challenge as a coach is helping professionals become more successful in their current work environment. This enables them to enjoy their work so much more. In addition, I help professionals who are looking to make the next step in their career, in line with their ambitions. My objective in working with teams is to enhance their mutual cooperation, allowing them to perform better as a unit.
My coaching style is honest, open, down-to-earth, authentic, reflective and incisive. I am known to be an engaged sparring partner with a genuine interest in my clients. I am extremely result-oriented and offer coaching with a specific objective and clear result.
I spent the greater part of my career working in the banking sector, laying a foundation in commercial roles within Structured Finance and Global Relationship Management. Eventually, I became increasingly interested in organisational change and resulting human behaviour. I therefore made the switch to Human Resources, working in various roles in recruitment and management development.
I enjoy working on the cutting edge of ‘hard’ and ‘soft’. I support my clients in making strategic choices and lending focus to their objectives in order to achieve better performances. I help them to improve cooperation within the management team and show them how to engage the organisation in changes they want to implement. Furthermore, I support individual professionals in their career development.
What makes my work as an Executive Search Associate so interesting is the contact with different people and organisations. Every organisation has a different business culture and, consequently, different needs. This also applies to potential candidates and their ambitions. Based on this conviction and my personal and result-oriented approach, I am able to find the perfect match between the client and the candidate.
What motivates me is finding the right candidate for a wide range of clients. I am able to achieve this by getting to the core of the position and its related competences by asking the right questions. As an Executive Search Associate, I spend every day looking for the perfect candidate for the client. YESS has built an extensive database and is in frequent contact with professionals all over the world. This makes the work personal and interesting.
Based on my conviction that people and teams determine the success of an organisation, I am constantly looking for ambitious and entrepreneurial professionals. Each candidate possesses a unique combination of expertise, experience and social skills. My greatest challenge as an Executive Search Associate is to find the perfect combination – and therefore the best match – for each client.
Converting the wishes of the client into a search for the candidate is what makes my work as an Executive Search Associate so interesting. In this, I do not only focus on experience, but also consider whether the ambitions and personality of the candidate suit the organisation. This is how I am able to put my interest in people and their development into practice on a daily basis.
My professional objective is to contribute to YESS’s success by efficiently and pro-actively assisting clients, candidates and colleagues. What makes my work so enjoyable and diverse is helping to build professional relationships with clients and candidates and realising mutual goals, in cooperation with great colleagues.
I consider it my professional challenge to ensure the efficient coordination of different processes within the organisation as a whole, enabling us to offer our clients and candidates an excellent service. Quality assurance matters a great deal to me. Working together and sparring with great colleagues allows me to continue to grow as an individual.
I consider it a daily challenge to act as the connecting link between clients, candidates and colleagues. This is how I contribute to the professional service that YESS provides, and how I ensure the best result for all parties. The wide range of people I come into contact with and the variety in my work guarantee that each day is different and never dull.
After having worked for leading hotel chains for eight years, I joined YESS as Controller in 2008. In my responsibilities for the financial and personnel administration, I strive to provide a clear view of the financial position of the company and to supply management with the information it needs. Being allowed to make independent decisions and having a say in the working method of the organisation ensures my full commitment to YESS.
Identification of the best candidates
The strategy of YESS consultants is based on their knowledge of a particular industry or role, as well as their years of experience in executive search. Our executive search associates work closely together with the consultants, following and mapping the career moves of ambitious professionals and potential senior managers within a wide variety of industries and functions.
Evaluating the “how”
During meetings with potential candidates, our consultants do not merely focus on what a candidate has achieved; how a professional works is often a better predictor of success than a resume alone. That is why YESS focusses on the how-questions, based on our competency-oriented interview model. The answers to these questions provide insight into the competences and allow for an accurate assessment of how the candidate will perform in the role. They will also provide an indication of whether the candidate will excel within the organisation and whether he/she will be a good fit within the company.
Committed to results
Our consultants’ objective is for our candidates to exceed expectations in their new job. We therefore maintain regular contact with both the candidate and the client to find out whether the match is meeting expectations and how the candidate is faring. The personal and professional involvement of our consultants stems from a long-term sense of solidarity with the clients and candidates. This long-lasting bond is one of the reasons that approximately two-thirds of our mandates consist of so-called repeat-mandates for existing clients.
Various studies have shown that diversity is one of the key characteristics of a successful team. YESS firmly believes this to be true. Diversity is much more than just a gender issue, also taking into account differences in background, experience and ways of thinking. This results in a broad perspective.
For years, YESS has been closely involved in various diversity initiatives. YESS is one of the founding partners of Talent naar de Top‘s Executive Search Code and commits to diversity in the boardroom through Topvrouwen.nl. The diversity issue informs our search process. As a result, YESS has in recent years helped place an average of 38% of women in senior management positions.
